Did you know that 1 in 8 households in the United States are currently facing food insecurity? That means that many families in our community do not have sufficient access to quality food and other basic needs. At Weed Man, we’re proud to be locally owned and operated, and we strive to make a difference for people in need – right in our own backyard! That’s why we want to invite our customers to participate in our 2024 fall food drive: Grassroots Giving!

What to Donate

From September 16 to October 4, 2024, we’re partnering with Midland’s Open Door to collect donations of the following items:

• Breakfast items: hot & cold cereals, biscuit and pancake mix, syrup

• Beverages: powdered milk, juices, drink mixes, hot chocolate, coffee, tea

• Proteins: beef stew, peanut butter, tuna

• Starches: Mac & cheese, spaghetti, noodles, pizza mix, pasta, rice & potato mixes

• Canned goods: canned fruit & veggies, tomato & spaghetti sauce, canned meals, soups 

• Accompaniments: ketchup, mustard, salad dressings, jam or jelly, crackers, salt, pepper

• Desserts: gelatin mixes, pudding mixes, cake & brownie mixes, cookies

• Personal care: bar soap, deodorant, shampoo & conditioner, shaving supplies, toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrushes 

• Housekeeping: dish detergent, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, paper towels

• Special diets: low salt & low sugar items, sugar free items 

How to Donate

Donating is easy! 

1. The day before your next lawn care application during our Grassroots Giving campaign, you will receive a text or email reminder about your next service. 

2. During our visit, simply leave any food items for donation outside your front door (preferably in a box or bag). 

3. Your Weed Man technician will collect all items while they are there to complete your service. 

4. All donations will benefit our friends at Midland’s Open Door!
